Mission Statement: Our mission is to help homeless men who are motivated to live sober  responsible lives

Vision Statement:   Our vision is to transform men into godly men, mature in their faith, giving back to their community
History:
Helping Hands Outreach Ministries, Inc, was founded in 1986 as and urban outreach program of Faith Christian Center of Bedford. We opened our first facility leasing space in the Saint Vincent DePaul building on Manchester Street. There we provided housing to the homeless, a food pantry, and used furniture distribution. Over the years as the ministry grew, we realized that much of what we did was being done by others and did not want to duplicate what could be found elsewhere. In 1991 Helping Hands purchased the former Saint Joseph's School for Boys at 50 Lowell Street and began extensive renovations to convert the former school into temporary housing.  It was also at this time that we began the process of becoming a private 501 (c) 3 no-profit corporation.

Currently, Helping Hands Outreach Ministries has 2 residential locations that provide shelter, food, case management, volunteer  opportunities, job training, and a safe, sober environment while providing peer supports and a positive structure for those whithin the programs. The men learn self-sufficiency, accountability, and gain a new found confidence in recovery and in their lives.
